Astoria is a somewhat small city located in the state of Oregon. With a population of 10,182 people and six associated neighborhoods, Astoria is the 56th largest community in Oregon. Much of the housing stock in Astoria was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.Astoria is neither predominantly blue-collar nor white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Astoria is a city of professionals, service providers, and sales and office workers. However, Astoria contains both very wealthy and poor people as well. Astoria is a very ethnically-diverse city. The people who call Astoria home describe themselves as belonging to a variety of racial and ethnic groups. The greatest number of Astoria residents report their race to be White, followed by Asian.
